Can't wait for this show. I'm driving up from DC again and hopefully, there will not be any hurricanes to contend with like last year!

Blaine, what do you use to varnish?

2 kinds, for larger works I use liquitex soluvar gloss, which is brushed on and self levels. For smaller works I previosly used the same material in an aerosol form, however I just discovered winsor newtons gloss varnish. It dries much faster and leaves a deeper gloss and color saturation.

Cool, thanks, Do you put a layer of medium over the paint before you varnish, in case of varnish removal in the far future, or do you go straight over your finished acrylic.? By the way, is there a way to contact you by email, you dont know me but I would love to have you weigh in on the work im doing right now. If possible id like to send a piece or two as gifts for you to do with what you will, all I would ask is for honest critique, which friends and family dont really give. It's always, "Oh how nice, that's so cool, and etc....

As I read this it dawns on me that eventually successful artists are going to get sponsorship deals like guitar players do with guitar strings! =)

Thanks for this info though. It's cool that an artist would answer his fans with such details.
