we have just finished our brand new, completly overhauled new website. A new shopping cart system, 3 new prints, and we finally are processing international orders for the first time. You'll also notice that we have published numerous images that have never been published before, installation photos, commercial projects and pieces of art.

BLAINE FONTANA

a friend sent me this the other day how it reminded him of one of my characters. my heart deeply sympathizes with this man but i find a surreal beauty about this at the same time

we are still plowing through our new site here, they always become so much work than anticipated. looks like more the end of october for the public release. we are also working on more prints that will go along with the release. many of the store orders were delayed a bit, something we have finally remedied, they are now handled more efficiently, even the fan kits are now caught up and ahead of schedule. for those of you who ordered fan kits before, during and a little after the big move in may, you'll be receiving a compensation gift for you wonderful patience.

in the mean time, below is a new piece and simalar works of the series is to come. this series is a revisit of the sqft body of work from back in november 2006. this is available in the blaine fontana store. a 12" x 12" x 2" 1/1 original giclee on board with a beautiful 1/8" layer of poured resin.

what a feeling to finish 31 new paintings....

LINEAGE GALLERY

my next solo show(and last one for quite some time) is coming through great, some very different work, the inspiration around me here in the forest is abundant and motivating. we are going through some cosmetic/directional changes and new additions here at the studio, recently we just retired the totembookmedia.com url and have moved permanently to BLAINEFONTANA.COM. the current site is there now, we are looking forward to creating a new site first thing in september that will feature an array of new prints, products and original pieces only available on blainefontana.com. along with this will be another new site created solely to dedicate the design and commercial projects that have never been seen publicly. this new "design" site will feature countless projects that my studio and partners have produced over the last 4-5 years along with a new additional direction my studio is expanding on and adding. we hope that both these behemoths will be live by the end of september.

this blog will still remain as my more personal area for fans and friends to access the process of work, new developments, products and other intimate ongoings of my fine art studio.

our studio is finally getting comfortable to work in. with 80% of things put away and looking organized i felt compelled to share our new studio....

on the rare chance i seem to take some time off i've been enjoying the island immensly and some new activities to decompress. my brother and i find time to do some archery in our meadow in the evenings, beach cruiser rides on the loop in battle point park, my lady researching on the hammocks and 4th of july on the deck creating a custom 10' table made out off 4" x 10" s. i have also finally been reaquainted with my love for bonsai, i'll upload some picks of those soon.

the first project i had to get to when i moved in may was to complete my scion art installation tour project. this is my 3 straight year with them and have enjoyed the project more and more each year. this years them was very loose, any medium/media of our choice, just use the phrase "its a beautiful world". so i choose to commemorate our move and the emotions i had been experiencing here with a piece titled "it s a wonderful life, outside the city". the scultpure has 2 tap lights inside to illumnate the frosted windows along with an incense stick that serves as a chimeny...

LONG OVERDUE UPDATE

its been to long since i've updated this, our move from Long Beach, CA to Bainbridge Island, WA has become a bigger beast than anticipated. we have been here 45 days, and still, we have a ton of boxes yet to be opened. during this acclimation, we have managed to create a 1/2 working studio in the new house, finish some outstanding deadlines and orders, and managed to meet some new peeps in the puget sound. i'll be uploading some great video's and photos of the place, studio, getting down lumberjack style, etc...

i'd like to inform everyone that the "Metamorphosis Orchestra" print is now available in my store. there are only a handful of these left. its a phenomenal deal for the size, # of colors and quality of this print. it nearly looks like the original painting, excluding the burnt umber aging process i do in nearly all my paintings.

THE METAMORPHOSIS ORCHESTRA PRINT

i'm a happy man today, a proof of the metamorphosis orchestra print arrived today. D & L printing did an amazing job with this 9 color print. the registration, colors and paper are outstanding...this print will be available on/after april 21st at the limited addiction gallery, and available online for the price of......wait for it........wait for it.......

$100, nope, thats not a typo folks - (ltd. addition of 350, 26"h x 40"w, signed and numbered)

i forgot to post this pic a couple weeks ago when all 43 boards were built and prepped staring me in the face...

limited addiction gallery and i will be releasing a new print for the april 21st opening. a 2' x 3' • 9 color silk screen print inspired by the metamorphosis orchestra painting..

so i'm really juiced for my next solo in denver at the limited addiction gallery(april 21st). the show has involved a lot of research, narritive, alliteration, and new techniques that have never been applied to my work until now. below are some pics of 35 large screens to be used as textures, graphics and pleasant noise in the paintings....

we adopted our second dog over the weekend, a chihuahua mix now named ATHENA, thought we ought to keep the greek name going with our ridgeback ZEUS. at first i didn't really know how to feel about such a small dog, but overnight i have found her adorable...she is 7 months, 9lbs....

if you have 3 hr's to spare this weekend i HIGHLY suggest seeing 300, it was everything i expected and more from a frank miller fan. i still have chills thinking about the movie an hour after leaving the theater...

so my friend and i have finally casted the entire set of nestkeepers, i will be slowly but surely releasing these on my store section as they finish. we had already casted and sold the first 8 back in september 06 at the lineage gallery opening. if you are really serious about getting one, i would suggest emailing me and i'll send you a money request through paypal to secure your order. this is the last 22 of the 30 that were casted, the mold has been destroyed and will not and can not be used again.
